Breath: The Connection of Physical & Vital Body:



It is written in the ancient scriptures, one of the oldest Upanishads, the Brihadaranyaka: 'Vayu (our breath) is the thread. Through Vayu or Cosmic Prana (breath of the Universe) as the thread, this world, the world beyond and all beings are held together.'

Our breath, Vayu, is the connection to the Universe through the subtle vital body. The vital body rides the breath and the purity of breath is reflected in the vital body's ability to assimilate Cosmic laws into conscious endeavors.

In the Mundaka Upanishad it is stated the importance of a purified breath. 'This subtle Self should be known with one's awareness, in which Prana has entered in its fivefold form. With the Pranas, the mind of all creatures is woven, which when purified the Self shines forth.' The Self embodies the Divine Spark of individuality.

The purified breath is not accomplished with the use of breathing exercises. These are misleading and injurious to sensitive western bodies. Looking to ancient Yoga as the guide for purifying breath, Patanjali's Yoga sutra succinctly states our quest. 'Yogash-citta-vrtti-nirodhah' haphazardly translated as the 'cessations of fluctuations of the mind' is a limiting and misleading translation. Citta is usually given a definition of mind or mind matters. The depth and scope of the subtle vital body intermingling with the all is not addressed. Our vital body is built with daily habitual repetitions slowly etching the vibrational field of our being not solely defined by physical parameters. Nirodhah is the force of habit that continually creates our vibrations; therefore, we must look to our daily habits for purification of the vital body. The reprogramming of habits is the essential key element to finer purer breath. Habits of the physical, metal and sensory natures creating their repetitions, and etching their vibrations of reflecting light into the aura. The color of auric light accurately measures the quality of purification. The aura of luminous peach being the mantel of advanced vital purification, glowing with luster, and reflecting back to the physical body as flowing health.

The finer and purer our habits; the finer and purer our breath; translating into improved health. There is no shortcut. The reward is great. Thru purified vibrations heaven begins to manifest on earth and physical beings become the candle of hope helping the Angelic forces heal the Divine consciousness and weave the Golden Wedding Garment of the ethereal from the purified vitality gaining entrance to the next level of our evolution and thus discarding the physical.
