Namasté Yoga Studio works together with the following teachers.
-
Margaret Leary, RYT,
is a registered Yoga Instructor through The Yoga Alliance.
She teaches traditional Hatha Yoga using asana (postures), pranayama
(breath) and meditation. In her classes, she brings the love of Yoga
through the lineage of Esther Myers and Vanda Scaravelli encouraging her
students to open and expand into the joy of life.
-
Jackie Howell is a Certified Massage Therapist and yoga instructor. She has
studied and trained in Yoga, Pilates, and ballet. Her classes are a playful
blend of many yoga styles, including Ayurvedic, Tibetan, and Anusara yoga,
and focus on the joy and healing benefits of movement and the
body-mind-spirit connection. Jackie's classes encourage students to let go
and let their bodies, minds, and spirits smile. Jackie teaches our Tuesday
Morning Yoga classes.
-
Mary O'Meara's classes encourage students to move into a meditative
space that emphasizes awareness of breath as the impetus for each movement,
and fosters a
curiosity about what facilitates each pose. She encourages her students
to look within
and see what is true for the present moment, and approach their practice
with a loving heart.
-
Kit Johnston loves how yoga balances her life-mentally, physically,
emotionally, and spiritually--and strives to help students find that balance as well.
She has studied with a wide variety of excellent teachers, including J.J. Gormley,
founder of Sun and Moon Yoga Studios, for 10 years, and has taught since 2003,
principally at the Belle Meade Studio in Rappahannock and in her beautiful, historic
home in Madison. Gentle, loving, attentive, and fun best describes her style in the
studio and in life.
-
Nazli P. Weiss, RYT, who originally hails from India,
is a longtime practitioner of Iyengar Yoga. For the last 11 years she
has studied Iyengar yoga in
Washington DC and Charlottesville, VA. She has attended numerous workshops
with senior Iyengar teachers nationwide and continues to do so on an
on-going basis. Nazli has a
Masters degree in English Literature, and has trained as a classical
Indian dancer. Nazli's teaching is enriched by her study of the Indian texts
and philosophy of yoga and aims to increase the strength and overall
wellness of the body-mind system.
She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) accredited by the Yoga Alliance
of North America. She is a Rappahannock County resident and currently
teaches at Blue Ridge
Yoga Studio in Charlottesville, VA.
-
Ocea Wilkes, CMT, EnK
is an Energy Kinesiologist and Massage Therapist. She brings more than 25 years
of experience integrating many life and health affirming traditions. Her Qigong
class will empower you to take responsibility for your own health and well-being,
making space for the present moment to be filled with joy, awareness, compassion
and a love of life.
-
Jason Holloway
has been exploring traditional forms of movement for over ten years. From years spent studying
practices as diverse as Irish Step dancing to traditional Japanese Karate and most especially,
the "new-classic" western yoga, Jason has developed a practiced that is ready to be shared!
Jason is currently studying with Charlottesville Yoga, earning accreditation in Ashtanga based
traditional yogic form. Accessible, yet challenging, his teaching style requires students
to be fully present to themselves, ready to open to their unique yoga movements.
